Motivation... Art and all that.

So I guess I will start by saying, that it is hard sometimes to get in the creative mood anyway.  With pottery I think there is less of the "create" that can slow down writing and similar. In the end I can just decide to make a run of something. This is part of working in functional ware rather than only "art pieces".

But there can be a motivational issue. It has to be worth it, and so one needs both a decent amount of time and energy. You don't start to throw to make one mug....
So all the energy and time that goes into setting up, throwing, cleaning up. Later trimming or at least finishing... ya that has to be taken into consideration.

But that part is not my issue.  My issue is motivation in general.  I have had little motivation to... get up, get dressed, talk to people... When it gets there it's hard to actually throw.  I have been pretty unproductive outside of the bare minimum with life right now.

So here is me moving forwardish. This is a pot. Yes, a pot. Red clay, white slip. This is part of the Zombie Pots (yup I named the emerging collection).  I dropped it off today. I will collect all three and get the first firing going by friday.

This is a tea pot, an asian style one. Hence this type of handle.  Now it is the tea pot to go with three of the tea bowls that I already posted on here. So I will fire, and add similar glaze.  I already added my typical decorations, but the picture is from actually slipping the pot.

This gets us back to a pricing issue.  I have three tea bowls, a tea pot, a tea tray, a tea strainer and three tea spoons. This is the tea set. What do I price this at?!!
