A Busy Week....

So this will be a busy week. I am aiming to have the new things I made all fired and ready to take by Saturday. This means everything I have made needs to be ready to bisque by Tuesday.  Thursday I would unload, glaze, and fire off the glaze kiln. Pots would be cool enough to unload by late friday or crazy early on saturday.

The community studio is participating in an art show in a little mountain town Beulah.  I will work the table on Sunday but on Saturday I have my stuff and my friends (our tax license says "The Three Potters") at the farmer's market. The jury accepted our work and we have a space every other saturday until October.

Once I get enough work, I will open the Etsy shop. I really need specific inventory for this, so it can be stashed and I don't have to worry about double selling a piece.

So these mugs are going to be refired....

Here are some storage jars with their lids in front of them.

A few other mugs, here with handles.

I did some simple slip design. Just a dip and finger swipe.  I will use the honey glaze over the slipped pieces.

A few bowls, they need to be trimmed. they will have a large foot on them. They are pretty small, 1# rice bowls.

Here is the start of a dinnerware set for two people.  There is a large plate, a small plate and then side dish plate.  The tiny squares you see are for soy sauce or similar.  This will be sold with a pair of chopsticks.

Here is slip design as well.  I did this over leaves, so you can see the design.  Again, this will be with the honey glaze.

Here is a close up.

Once Fire in Progress...

outside of the sake sets, everything here will be once fired. Here are some pictures. But missing is shots of mugs with handles, dipped in glaze, and drying.

Firing the last of it.

Here is the last of it, basically. All the things that did not make it into the last firing.

A firing....
So I moved from trimming, to drying, to a few bisque loads that were a mix of my stuff and other peoples. For this glaze firing I had a lot of my big bowls but did not really get everything in there. I guess I have been more productive than I thought. One more glaze load of my stuff and the communities and I will be done.

But here is a quick look at that firing.

The celdon tumblers are not mine, FYI

Here is a quick look at everything I had in the kiln.

Go Buy Pots.

I have jokingly told people either people need to start buying more pots, or stealing them so they can get moving.

This was a rice bowl I made for myself but I think I am going to sell it.

I was in such a rush to get the mugs out, I did not get pix of them individually. This is a single mug tree, but I have three worth of mugs.

Here is where to find the work (if you are in Pueblo, Colorado)  But at Etsy Shop soon!!

I got the large burner set to use with propane.  I am going to do a slight alternation to Sabrina....

Throwing in White

I am out of powdered clay, which means I cannot make more clay in an efficient manner via the pug mill. So I am doing a few throwings with B-Mix, which is white.

Here is a set of bowls, 2# with a foot.  Then some small off the hump bowls (only a few survived an overexcited dog) and a random storage jar.

These are 3#, a curve inside and then the outside will be basically rounded off.  I was aiming for serving bowl and was thinking about pasta.

On these they have been thrown and altered.  Not sure you can see but both have lug handles.

Another round of serving bowls.

But when I got to trimming off the last round... well.  See I have that tiny ribbon tool to carve into the clay when doing say slip work.  But I added a ring on the bottom.  I liked the look.  A very small wide foot, rather than rounded. But it lifts the pot up a bit. So I did a few of those.

And then on this final one, I took it a step further and did chattering on the bottom third. The spiral on the bottom, and finally a spiral inside as well.
